What memberships are available?

We have a wide range of memberships available so that you can choose one that best fits your needs.  Please click on ‘Memberships’ in the orange column on the right for information on each package.

How old do I have to be to join?

Access to the gyms unaccompanied is from 14 years of age.  12 and 13 year olds can use the gyms but only if accompanied by a responsible adult.  Those aged under 16 years can attend a selected range of studio classes accompanied by a responsible adult.  From 16 years you can attend all studio classes unaccompanied.

Those taking out a membership under the age of 18 years will need to have a parent or legal guardian sign their membership forms and direct debit mandate.

Are there any hidden costs?

No.  There is a joining fee of £30 for all memberships apart from our Student and Teen Saver which is £20.  This one-off fee includes all administration, a personal needs analysis, physical activity readiness questionnaire, your induction and your first training programme.  Inductions are made bespoke to each individual; so shorter for experienced gym users and more detailed for those new to the gym so you have everything you need to exercise safely.

Are all the classes free?

If you select a membership package that includes access to classes, then all the classes on our studio timetable are free to you as a member.  Should you choose a membership without classes then you are still able to book and pay for each class that you wish to attend.  Outside of the class timetable we will put on courses of speciality classes.  These will attract a charge although members are able to access them at a heavily discounted price.

What extras can I add to my membership?

For those members on a Premier package, you may add Rackets to your membership for an additional £9 per month for access to badminton, squash and table tennis.  Courts can be booked up to 7 days in advance.

I would like to bring a friend to workout with me when I join.

Joining a gym, even a friendly one such as ours, can seem daunting at first.  We are happy for you to bring along a friend throughout the joining process.  Once you’ve joined you can nominate up to 5 friends within your first 42 days as a member to receive a FREE 7-day pass.  They can then use the pass to workout with you for a whole week.

What do I need to bring with me?

Please wear appropriate, comfortable clothing such as a t-shirt and loose-fitting trousers, e.g. tracksuit bottoms.  For footwear, you can't go wrong with a pair of comfortable trainers.  Bring a £1 coin with you for the lockers.  Lockers are free to use but take a one pound coin which is returned to you when you unlock the locker.  It is also advised to bring a small towel.  Drinks can be purchased at the sports centre in the café or at a vending machine.  Alternatively, you can bring your own drink in a sports / water bottle.

How do I book a personal training session?

We have a range of highly qualified male and female Personal Trainers who use our facility.  This is a service provided directly by them.  For further information and contact details, simply speak to one of the Gym Team when you next visit.

Can I change my membership package?

Yes.  Things change and we understand that.  We will try to be as flexible as possible in accommodating your needs.  Please speak to a Membership Advisor on 01256 302242 who will go through the options available.

Can I freeze my membership?

Yes, you can freeze your membership free of charge for reasons that are related to medical / injury / pregnancy.  We will need confirmation from your healthcare professional.  Please contact Membership Admin on 01256 302215 who can arrange this for you.

You can also suspend your membership, for any other reason, for £10 per month.  Again, please contact Membership Admin on 01256 302215 who can arrange this for you.

Please note that if you freeze or suspend within your minimum contract term the ‘frozen’ or ‘suspended’ months don’t count towards your contract length.

Can I cancel my membership?

Within your first 10 days of membership you are able to cancel your membership with no additional charge.

Within your contract period, you can give one month’s notice from month 11 in order that your membership can be cancelled at the end of the agreed membership term.  For example, if your contract term ends on the 31st March, then you can let us know at any point as long as it is at least one calendar month before, e.g. by 1st March in this example.

Having completed your agreed membership term you can cancel at any point in time by providing one month’s notice.
